INSTRUCTIONS
When using torque wrenches with insert sockets, it should be noted that different insert tools can have different effective lengths. This can alter the torque applied to the nut or the bolt.
You can easily calculate the torque to be set for your torque wrench with the respective insert tool:
use our app to determine the necessary setting to apply the desired torque to the nut or bolt.
This programme is based on the following formula for torque correction with effective length change:
MDE | = |
torque to be set on the torque wrench in Nm |
MDV | = |
prescribed torque for the screw connection in Nm |
l1 | = |
length from the centre of the handle to the top in mm |
l2 | = |
gauge dimension of the insert tool with which the torque wrench was calibrated in mm |
lW | = |
gauge dimension of the new insert tool in mm |
